Hugo Cai, Regional Director of TP-Link Malaysia, said: “Building technology talent at scale requires more than individual initiatives. It requires sustained collaboration across institutions that can connect education more closely with how technology is advancing in the real world. With UniSHAMS joining our university network, we are taking another step towards building an ecosystem where industry and academia can collectively prepare the technology talent Malaysia will need for the future.”

Prof. Dr. Mohd Amy Azhar bin Dato’ Haji Mohd Harif, Vice Chancellor of UniSHAMS, stated: “Technology will continue to change, and so will the capabilities expected of our graduates. Our role is therefore not only to prepare students for today’s industry, but to develop their ability to continue learning, adapting and responding to what comes next. Through this collaboration with TP-Link Malaysia, we can broaden the learning experience beyond the classroom while creating more opportunities for our students and academics to engage with industry and contribute to meaningful research.”

Across its academic network, TP-Link Malaysia has been introducing students to Omada enterprise networking technologies and the Omada Certified Network Associate (OCNA) certification pathway. The initiative gives students greater exposure to industry-relevant technologies and professional credentials that are recognised in the enterprise networking space.

The partnership joins an existing network of Malaysian universities that TP-Link Malaysia has engaged through similar industry-academia arrangements, which already involves Tunku Abdul Rahman University of Management and Technology (TAR UMT), Universiti Malaya (UM), Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Universiti Sains Islam Malaysia (USIM), and New Era University College.
