We have yet to see the non-K 12th Gen Intel Core processors arrive on the market, but Intel’s Gregory M Bryant has taken to Twitter to announce that they are shipping out their high-performance mobile processors to laptop makers. It is not clear whether he really means high-performance, as in the H-series mobile processors, or just laptop processors in general, but it will be interesting to see the laptop designs featuring the 12th Gen Intel Core processors.

12th Gen Intel Core laptops are coming soon!

The upcoming 12th Gen Intel Core Alder Lake-P series of processors will incorporate both the U-series and H-series offerings. They will come in a range of configurations ranging from 2P-cores with 8 E-cores to 6 P-cores and 8 E-cores. With that many cores packed under the hood, the 12th Gen Intel Core laptops should offer a pretty nice upgrade over the current 11th Gen Intel Core Tiger Lake processors. All of the 12th Gen Intel Core Alder Lake-P processors are slated to pack Intel Iris Xe graphics with 96EUs, which is probably the most interesting bit of it all.

Intel 12th Gen Intel Alder Lake scalable

Desktop 12th Gen Intel Core processors pack 32EU integrated graphics, so we will probably see the high-end 12th Gen Intel Core Alder Lake-P end up with a bigger die than the desktop 12th Gen Intel Core processors. In any case, expect to see laptops featuring the 12th Gen Intel Core processors to be unveiled at CES 2022, which is happening in January next year.

ASUS ROG Zephyrus M16 Review-3

I do wonder if we will see more Intel-based laptops from vendors. ASUS seems to have shifted their focus to making AMD-powered gaming laptops in 2021, so I wonder if the 12th Gen Intel Core processors are enticing enough for them to unveil a revitalized lineup of Intel-based gaming machines.
