Intel Unveils AI PC Developer Program For Small-Scale Developers
Intel’s AI PC ambitions aim for more than 100 million Intel-powered devices with AI capabilities by 2025, and to facilitate that, the company introduced the AI PC Acceleration Program last October aimed to provide large independent software vendors (ISVs) access to the company’s engineering resources to design their apps that best utilizes the NPU hardware for optimal experience.
Today, the company is expanding the program with two major announcements – the new AI PC Developer Program aimed at small-scale developers, as well as the addition of independent hardware vendors (IHVs) to the program.
The AI PC Developer Program will provide both software developers and ISVs to “deliver a frictionless developer experience”, enabling easy AI adoption via easy access to tools, workflows, developer kits, and more. Intel will be providing the ASUS NUC Pro 14 mini-PC with the Meteor Lake Core Ultra processors as the developer kit, which allows for a total of 4 display outputs (2x HDMI + 2x Thunderbolt 4) and up to 96GB of DDR5 memory.
Meanwhile, IHVs joining the AI PC Acceleration Program will be able to optimize their hardware for Intel’s AI PC framework. Qualified partners will get access to technical and engineering support in the early phase of the development, ensuring smooth deployment of the hardware to the finalized device. A total of 150 hardware vendors have joined this program, said Matt King, senior director of Client Hardware Ecosystem at Intel.
