Amongst the huge list of hardware ASUS is presented on its Computex booth this week, the brand has also debuted a brand-new family of monitors with a touch of colors – something you don’t really see outside of current-gen iMacs. The monitor itself comes in four colors, which is Quiet Blue, Green Grey, Astro Beige, and Pink Clay.

The ASUS VU series comes in two sizes: 23.8-inch and 27-inch (VU249CFE and VU279CFE respectively) – both of which packs a 1080p IPS panel that offers refresh rate of up to 100Hz. As far as entry-level monitor displays go, 100Hz is fairly decent even for gaming scenarios. While the stand itself isn’t directly mounted to VESA which often offers greater articulation, the stand itself offers some degree of maneuverability with three adjustable height levels (71, 96 & 121mm), as well as a cable management channel. I/O options include HDMI, USB-C with DisplayPort Alt Mode and 15W Power Delivery for device charging.

The VU series are all manufactured using 85% of post-consumer recycled plastic (PCR) and contains fully recycled paper for packaging, sourced from FSC-certified sustainably managed forests; and ASUS is targeting Energy Star 8.0 rating with the use of built-in light sensor to adjust brightness on-the-fly and reduce excess brightness when necessary to save power. As of this writing, no availability nor pricing information has been announced.

Pokdepinion: Certainly a breath of fresh air from all the grayscale-shaded monitors these days.
