Previously, it was reported that NVIDIA will be switching to 3GB GDDR7 modules for its RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER refresh to give both cards an 50% increase in memory capacity – the same will allegedly apply to the RTX 5070 Ti SUPER, according to well-known leaker kopite7kimi.

RTX 5070 Ti SUPER Leaked

The current RTX 5070 Ti packs 16GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and this number can be simply multiplied through the number of modules (typically 8) to the VRAM capacity of each memory chip. In this case, 8 times 2GB equals 16GB; if you swap it out for the newer 3GB modules instead, that gives you 24GB in total. In fact, this combination is already in use for the RTX 5090 Laptop GPU, which is the only consumer model today to use the 3GB modules.

That said, the SUPER refresh is more than just the VRAM upgrade, according to kopite7kimi’s information. Other specs leaked include the same 8,960 CUDA cores as the non-SUPER card, same memory speeds, though a significantly higher TDP, now at 350 watts (50W more than original). This should be the sole contributor of the SUPER card’s performance uplift, so expect a few percent’s worth of extra framerates.

Meanwhile, new information emerges for the RTX 5080 SUPER and RTX 5070 SUPER, both of which were already reported to feature increased VRAM capacity. Specifically, the RTX 5080 SUPER will get a power increase from 360W to 415W, while the new RTX 5070 SUPER is set to get a small increase in CUDA cores (6,400 vs 6,144) and a small bump in power (275W vs 250W).

In any case, don’t expect the SUPER cards to appear soon, as these are intended as a mid-cycle refresh; as such, given that RTX 50 series was originally introduced in CES this year, expect the refresh to appear in similar timeframe come 2026.
