GX Bank Berhad (GXBank) has announced the launch of the Impian Gigih Biasiswa, a scholarship program designed to provide Malaysian students with access to tertiary education. This initiative is part of GXBank’s broader Impian Gigih program, as the company demonstrates its commitment to “drive financial inclusion and literacy.”

The Impian Gigih Biasiswa aims to address the rising trend of students from low-income households forgoing higher education due to high costs. The scholarship provides comprehensive financial support, covering tuition fees, living expenses, and accommodation costs. Additionally, recipients will benefit from development opportunities, including overseas immersion programs, resilience and skills courses, and internships with GXBank.

“Outstanding talents who demonstrate exceptional academic achievements, leadership potential, and a hunger to create positive impact amongst their community deserve a chance to further themselves. Their financial situation should not be a barrier to achieving their dreams. We are motivated and driven to nurture the nation’s best and brightest to lead the transformation of Malaysia’s digital banking landscape,” said Hildah Hamzah, Cief of Staff at GXBank.

To qualify, interested applicants must be Malaysian citizens aged 22 or below, applying for full-time undergraduate studies at Malaysian public universities, and have a household income of RM8,000 or below. Applicants must have a CGPA of 3.3 or above and secure admission to a Malaysian public university. They must also submit an essay introducing themselves, explaining why they deserve the scholarship, and detailing how they plan to contribute to society. The application deadline is 6 July 2024.
