Seni Jaya Corporation Berhad has secured two awards at the Asia Pacific Enterprise Awards (APEA) 2026 Regional Edition, marking a significant milestone in the company’s corporate turnaround story. Chief Executive Officer Jeff Cheah received the Master Entrepreneur Award, while Seni Jaya as a group took home the Fast Enterprise Award.

APEA is organized by Enterprise Asia and recognizes entrepreneurial and corporate excellence across the Asia Pacific region. The program spans four award categories: Master Entrepreneur, Fast Enterprise, Inspirational Brand, and Corporate Excellence. The Master Entrepreneur Award honors individual business leaders who demonstrate vision and sustained innovation, while the Fast Enterprise Award is given to companies that have shown rapid growth in revenue, market share, profit, or brand recognition.

Seni Jaya Corporation’s Turnaround Under CEO Jeff Cheah

When Jeff Cheah assumed the CEO role in May 2021, Seni Jaya operated solely with static billboards and had no digital out-of-home capability. The business was also under significant pressure from the COVID-19 pandemic – rather than contracting operations, he rebuilt the group from the ground up, growing the workforce to 74 employees and repositioning Seni Jaya as a platform for third-party OOH and DOOH operators.

By September 2021, just months after Jeff Cheah took over, Seni Jaya had become the second largest OOH advertising provider in Malaysia by inventory and asset diversity. The company’s billboard network has since grown past 520 locations nationwide, including more than 80 digital billboards, achieved without owning every asset outright. The group’s revenue climbed from RM8.75 million in FY2021 to RM69.71 million in FY2025, representing an increase of approximately 697%; a digital gantry along the LDP in Kelana Jaya, introduced in 2023, was recognized by the Malaysia Book of Records as the country’s first of its kind.

Seni Jaya has expanded its portfolio through the acquisitions of Unilink Outdoor Group, Andaman Media, Vision OOH, and Ganad. The group also launched SYNQ, a new digital solutions company built around visibility, engagement, and influence. SYNQ integrates digital capabilities intended to extend brand impact beyond outdoor advertising.

Together, Seni Jaya’s OOH and digital offerings are positioned under an Integrated Intelligent Digital Solution (IIDS) framework, a digital ecosystem that unifies the group’s traditional and digital media channels into a single network. The company counts major brand activations in its portfolio, including the 2024 TRX Samsung Galaxy Station wrap with Samsung Malaysia and the ‘B-VERSE, BTS Singing the Stars’ exhibition at Pavilion Bukit Jalil from December 2023 to March 2024.

Pokdepinion: Going from zero digital billboards and a pandemic-hit balance sheet to nearly eightfold revenue growth in four years is the kind of turnaround story that makes MBA case studies jealous, so the awards seem pretty well deserved here.
