Zurich Critical Illness Insurance is now available for purchase on the Shopee and ShopeePay apps, giving Malaysians the more convenient option to buy critical illness coverage through platforms they already use for everyday transactions. The plan is underwritten by Zurich Life Insurance Malaysia Berhad, and distributed by MoneeInsure Agency Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (MoneeInsure).
Zurich Critical Illness Coverage Details
Zurich Critical Illness Insurance is offered in two variants: Basic and Comprehensive, with coverage of up to RM300,000. The plans cover up to 14 critical and early-stage illnesses, including cancer, heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure. Both plans are open to Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above.
The Basic Plan offers a sum assured of RM50,000, RM100,000, RM200,000, or RM300,000, along with second medical opinion support of up to RM2,000 and monthly income support of RM5,000 to RM8,000 for three months. It covers cancer, stroke, heart attack, kidney failure, end-stage liver failure, end-stage lung disease, and serious coronary artery disease, but does not include early-stage illness coverage.
The Comprehensive Plan includes the same core illness coverage as the Basic Plan, with the addition of selected early-stage illnesses covered up to RM150,000 (sum assured). Both plans allow payment on a monthly or annual basis (MoneeInsure is running a campaign offering eligible Malaysians the first month free when purchasing the Basic Plan.)
Users can purchase either plan through the ShopeePay app by selecting “Insurance” on the homepage, followed by “Health.” On the Shopee app, users can navigate to the “Me” page, select “Insurance” under the Financial Services section, and choose “Health.”
