Digi Teams Up With MERCY Malaysia In Aiding Medical Frontliners
Digi today has announce of their two-year partnership with MERCY Malaysia, where they aim to assist in the country’s COVID-19 Response and Recovery initiative, starting with a RM1,00,000 monetary contribution as part of a larger industry initiative to support various on-ground community programs.

The first of four RM250,000 tranches was channeled earlier this months for immediate COVID-19 emergency relief efforts in Sabah. As you know, the state is one of the worst hit states in the country during the pandemic.
With the funds, they’ve distributed it to mobilize assistance to health facilities as part of infection prevention and control, provide supply of medical equipment and supplies including PPE sets, ICU related equipment and antigen rapid test kits, food supplies for vulnerable communities, as well as support the deployment of volunteers.
Through this partnership with MERCY Malaysia, we hope to reach the heart of the community in Sabah and offer immediate disaster and medical relief to alleviate the situation on the ground. We hope the contribution will help to ramp up efforts by non-governmental organizations (NGOs) and MOH in combatting this pandemic. We are also looking to include other initiatives and mobilize subsequent funding to areas with the most urgent need or for community building in worst-hit areas, depending on the evolution of the pandemic.

Pokdepinion: I can’t say much for our front-liners who are working tirelessly in fighting the pandemic.. but it must’ve been a real tiring year for them. It’s good to see help in any way being provided to them for their efforts.
