Yes 5G & NVIDIA Officially Brings GeForce NOW To Malaysia
The media gets invited to The Starhill at Bukit Bintang to witness the official launch of NVIDIA GeForce NOW in Malaysia, courtesy of exclusive partner Yes 5G earlier today. The event is also open to the public this weekend, starting from today until Sunday 10pm (opens 10am) located right at the entrance foyer.
In case you missed it – NVIDIA GeForce NOW is a cloud gaming service that allows gamers to access games without requiring dedicated gaming hardware, as the entire processing is done by the datacenter full of GPUs capable of high-end PC performance and visual fidelity. The networking side of things is done by Yes 5G, which also provides exclusive discounts to its subscribers.
As for the pricing, for non-Yes users it’ll cost RM50 per month to access the service, or RM500 annually; Yes subscribers meanwhile will get 40% discount which means RM30 monthly and a further two months free with RM300 if you choose the annual subscription option. In both cases, gamers will get instant access to all 1,600 games in the GeForce NOW catalog spanning across multiple storefronts such as Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft and so on.
“NVIDIA GeForce NOW Powered by Yes 5G is a game-changer for the Malaysian gaming industry. We are proud to officially launch this service to Malaysian gamers and contribute to growth of the local esports scene. The service empowers gamers to break free from the chains of hardware limitations, transporting them to a realm where exhilaration knows no bounds,” said Wing K. Lee, CEO of YTL Communications.
“The future of gaming in Malaysia is here with GeForce NOW Powered by Yes 5G,” said Phil Eisler, VP of GeForce NOW. “Since introducing GeForce NOW globally, the cloud game service has garnered success and popularity in markets worldwide, and its official arrival in Malaysia marks another significant milestone for NVIDIA.”
Once again, the roadshow is currently ongoing at Starhill Bukit Bintang, Kuala Lumpur and opens 10am to 10pm until this Sunday – you can visit the roadshow located right at the Entrance Foyer to try GeForce NOW firsthand, engage in other activities, or win various prizes!
Pokdepinion: I tried it firsthand and honestly, not bad. Though FPS gamers would still prefer to play native for the most part anyways.
