Spotify has just announced a new miniplayer that lets users listen to music tracks and podcasts directly from the Facebook app. This eliminates the need for users to switch apps back and forth in order to listen to tracks or podcasts shared on their Facebook News Feed.

One less reason to leave the Facebook app with Spotify’s new miniplayer

Starting today in select markets including Malaysia, Spotify Premium users can discover and experience songs and episodes with full playback directly from Spotify inside the Facebook app on iOS and Android. Spotify Free users can enjoy the same great experience via shuffle mode with accompanying ads from Spotify. Moreover, fans will be able to play songs via the miniplayer from selected verified artists’ tweets, as well as from user-uploaded videos on Facebook that include licensed music, in addition to Spotify shares to Facebook News Feed.

For those worried about privacy concerns, Facebook will only have limited access to user data from the miniplayer’s integration with the app and the advertisements will come straight from Spotify themselves. Check out the video below to see Spotify’s miniplayer in action.

Pokdepinion: This is actually a pretty useful addition and I am sincerely glad Spotify and Facebook decided to add this in.
