WhatsApp Now Enables Additional Text Formatting Options

For those people who prefer to write long and comprehensive pieces of information on WhatsApp, you’re in luck – Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced via his WhatsApp channel that the app is gaining more text formatting options to keep long texts tidy and clean. In a message, he demonstrated the new feature with a brief description of a meat bouquet.

Below is a list of all text formatting options available, with the new additions highlighted. The minus sign (-) now converts a line of text into a bulleted list (provided you add a space after the symbol), whereas numbered lists will simply require putting a number followed by a period before any text. According to WhatsApp, it’ll support two digits – meaning you can make up to 99 entries per message.

To use block quotes, use the Greater Than symbol (>) located next to the question sign on your keyboard, and the backtick sign (`) located above the Tab key on your typical keyboard can be used for inline code texts (you must wrap either end of a text with the backtick sign to work).

The new feature is now available for all Android, iOS, WhatsApp Web, and Mac desktop users.
