Windows 11 May Soon Let You Control RGB Without Third-Party Apps
Say goodbye to resource-hogging from the RGB apps of many manufacturers.

In the latest public test build (build number 25295) user Albacore spotted a section under Settings which enables basic RGB controls over the PC’s peripherals. Apparently the code was traced all the way back in 2018 – so it’s almost certain that this may have been a feature intended for Windows 10 from the beginning.
New settings for device lighting make an appearance in build 25295. Is this the beginning of the end for low quality RGB gamer gear apps? 🎮 The spec for this is from 2018 and references to the feature have been around for years. Not cancelled after all 🥳https://t.co/oG4JbKsoeB pic.twitter.com/bMtxCH8REo

That being said, it’s possible that some of the more advanced features (such as per-key RGB customization) may still be limited to the device’s app of choice. We can’t say for sure – but if Microsoft chose to greenlit this feature into future feature updates, it’d be very much welcomed by gamers.

Pokdepinion: I can attest, some peripheral management software just feels clunky and drags performance – so at least I hope this would make manufacturers to pay attention in their app’s usability.
