Earth Defense Force 6 for Nintendo Switch 2 is getting an Asian localized version, with Clouded Leopard Entertainment confirming a release date of 28 January 2027. The launch will coincide simultaneously with the Japanese version, bringing the action shooter to Nintendo Switch 2 players across Asia in English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Korean, and Japanese.
The game is developed by Sandlot and published by D3 Publisher, with Yuke’s handling the Nintendo Switch 2 port. Clouded Leopard Entertainment serves as the regional distributor for the Asian localized release.

Earth Defense Force 6 picks up after the events of Earth Defense Force 5, in which humanity barely survived a devastating alien invasion that wiped out 90% of the world’s population. Civilization itself is on the brink of collapse, and the EDF faces a new wave of challenges as humanity struggles to recover and survive once more.
The latest installment features the greatest number of missions and weapons in the series to date. All missions support online co-op play for up to 4 players, while offline split-screen co-op is also available. Players can command all four military branches and team up with EDF soldiers from around the world.
The Nintendo Switch 2 version of Earth Defense Force 6 adds local wireless play on top of the existing online co-op mode. Up to 4 players can join together using their own Nintendo Switch 2 systems, with each player requiring their own system and copy of the game. Two-player split-screen mode is also supported for those playing together on a single screen.
The physical package version is priced at $308 HKD, $1,330 NTD, or 59,300 KRW. The Digital Standard Edition carries the same price as the physical version, while the Digital Deluxe Edition is priced at $398 HKD, $1,650 NTD, or 74,100 KRW. An Upgrade Pass is also available at $110 HKD, $515 NTD, or 22,300 KRW.
