Acer Predator Triton 16 Is The Brand's Latest Sub-20mm Gaming Laptop

The latest gaming laptop entry from Acer is a sleek one – the Predator Triton 16 comes with a sliver finish in a sub-20mm chassis that just about blends into any professional environment. Under the hood it’s all firepower: the laptop features Intel’s latest Core i9 CPUs (the press release only mentions 5.4GHz max boost clock, which we infer as either i9-13900H or i9-13900HK) and NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU to power through games.

Aside from both chips, there’s also up to 32GB of DDR5-5200 memory and up to 2TB SSD with RAID 0 configuration, display is courtesy of a 16-inch QHD+ 16:10 IPS display capable of 500 nits of brightness and 240Hz refresh rate. It also offers 100% DCI-P3 color space, NVIDIA G-SYNC and NVIDIA Advanced Optimus to provide seamless GPU switching. To cool the components, Acer is using their 5th Gen Aeroblade 3D metal fins as well as liquid metal to keep temperatures under control.

Being a gaming laptop, RGB is a no-question – but you do get per-key RGB with dedicated media keys, microphone mute and PredatorSense app for quick controls. Connectivity is handled by Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro which combines both the E2600 LAN chip and 1675i Wi-Fi 6E; other I/O include two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI 2.1, a single USB-C with Thunderbolt 4 support, and a microSD card slot that is located at the front of the laptop. When was the last time you see I/O located in the front of laptops?

As for the pricing and availability, Acer says it’ll cost $1,799 in US and will go on sale in September. However there’s no local pricing nor availability information published as of this writing.

Pokdepinion: Quite a lot of performance for something this thin.
