Following the debut reveal in CES 2026, ASUS has officially unveiled the ExpertBook Ultra laptop at the ASUS Next Enterprise Summit 2026 event, with the model serving as the flagship model for the laptop maker’s business segment. For starters, it’s got an ultra-light chassis starting from just 0.99 kg, packing the new Intel Core Ultra processor which packs quite the punch, as we’ve seen in models we tested.
ASUS ExpertBook Ultra Launched
Inside the ASUS ExpertBook Ultra you’ll find up to Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor with up to 50W of TDP, cooled via its ExpertCool Pro thermal system, which uses dual fluid-dynamic bearing fans with 97 liquid-crystal polymer (LCP) blades at 0.15mm each, paired with 0.1mm aluminum heatsink fins, and a crosswind positive air-pressure design. All told, the system produces fan noises under 20dB in whisper mode (15W TDP) and under 28dB in standard mode (25W TDP), both of which is darn near silent in practical terms.
This particular processor is better known for its GPU performance, for which ASUS says the integrated Intel Arc B390 GPU (12 Xe cores) is rated approximately 35% faster than an NVIDIA RTX 4050 at 30W in 3DMark Time Spy. Accompanying the CPU is up to 64GB of LPDDR5X-9600 memory, while storage uses PCIe Gen 5.0 NVMe SSD up to 2TB in capacity, rated at over 14,000 MB/s read speeds, with optional OPAL 2.0 hardware encryption. The 70Wh battery is rated for up to 26 hours of use, with 50% charge achievable in 30 minutes, and supports 5V-20V input for compatibility with standard power banks.
The ExpertBook Ultra’s chassis is constructed from CNC-machined AZ31B magnesium-aluminum alloy and treated with ASUS Nano Ceramic Technology with 9H hardness, resulting in a weight of 0.99kg or 1.09kg, depending on the OLED configurations – the Polymer OLED variant is the lighter one, while the Tandem OLED option is the slightly heavier one. With that kind of lightness, it’s also just as thin at just 10.9mm; for that matter, ASUS describes it as the world’s smallest-footprint 14-inch laptop.
As aforementioned, two display options are available. The Tandem OLED variant features a 14-inch 3K (2880×1800) 30-120Hz variable refresh rate touchscreen with 1,400nits HDR peak brightness (600nits SDR), 100% DCI-P3 coverage, and 40% lower power consumption compared to standard OLED panels. The Polymer OLED variant, meanwhile, offers the same resolution at 120Hz with 1,000nits HDR peak brightness (450nits SDR). Both use Corning Gorilla Glass (Victus and Matte variants) with a 19 GU gloss rating and 80% glare reduction.
Moving downwards, the keyboard features 1.5mm key travel with spill resistance and UV coating, while the touchpad is a 110cm² edge-to-edge glass haptic unit with six force sensors and an AAC haptic motor. Basically, it’ll behave closer to that of a MacBook than a traditional diving board design that you see in virtually every other Windows-based laptop, which often has inherent limitations when clicking at the top half of the surface area.
Audio is handled by a six-speaker system (including two dual-diaphragm force-cancelling 5cc woofer chambers and two tweeters) with Dolby Atmos support, rated at 95dB peak output. Connectivity includes two Thunderbolt 4 ports, two USB-A 3.2 Gen 2 ports, HDMI 2.1, a 3.5mm combo jack, tri-band 2×2 Wi-Fi 7 with Laser Direct Structuring antenna integration, and Bluetooth 6.0.
Hardware security includes an ASUS Security Processor, dual self-healing BIOS ROM, discrete TPM 2.0 (FIPS 140-2 certified), Microsoft Pluton security co-processor, match-on-chip fingerprint reader, Windows Hello IR camera, physical webcam shield, and chassis intrusion alert. The device is compliant with NIST SP 800-193 BIOS resilience standards and meets Microsoft Secured-Core PC requirements. The ExpertBook Ultra also ships with the MyExpert AI suite at no additional subscription cost, including AI ExpertMeet for meetings and a local Knowledge Hub for on-device document search and LLM inference.
