Razer announced a new studio microphone in the form of Seiren V3 Pro, featuring 32-bit float recording support, built-in audio DSP, plus USB Type-C and XLR connectivity options. Simplicity is the selling point here, with Razer noting that this new model is designed for “first-time creators to seasoned broadcasters” alike.
Razer Seiren V3 Pro
The Razer Seiren V3 Pro uses a 30mm dynamic microphone with a cardioid polar pattern – same as the Seiren V2 Pro – though frequency range is slightly narrowed down to 50-16,000Hz (from 20-20,000Hz). The body uses zinc unibody construction acoustically tuned to reduce vibration, while a built-in shock absorber and removable pop filter are included to minimize handling noise and plosives. The microphone ships with a vibration-dampened adjustable arm mount as well.
The I/O has a major update this time, now featuring XLR and USB-C options with different signal characteristics. For plug-and-play, USB-C connections support up to 125dBA signal-to-noise ratio (SNR), while professional-focused XLR connections raises the dynamic range up to 150dBA. Based on what the spec sheet says, the microphone can be attached to external arms via 5/8-27 threaded mount.
Razer says the microphone’s new 32-bit float recording format provides a wider dynamic range compared to standard 24-bit recording, reducing the likelihood of clipping when capturing loud or dynamic audio sources. There is a small caveat, however: you’ll need Razer Synapse software on Windows to actually enable this. Meanwhile, the built-in audio DSP processes audio directly on the microphone without relying on the host PC, and includes an AI noise remover, compressor, limiter, and expander functions.
A lot has changed on the outside, too. Instead of the round pill shape of old, the new model features a cleaner cylindrical look with a single touch mute button, a physical gain dial (up to 40dB), and a Razer Chroma RGB lighting ring that provides real-time indicator for gain, mute, and peak status (and of course, RGB customization is a given – it’s Razer after all).
