GIGABYTE announced it has officially claimed memory frequency world record at COMPUTEX 2026 that concluded just last week, reaching speeds of 13,556 MT/s using Corsair DDR5 memory modules. Simultaneously, the team also claimed another 10 Global First Place rankings to showcase its motherboards’ overclocking prowess.
GIGABYTE’s New World Record: DDR5-13556
The record was set during the G.SKILL 12th Annual OC World Record Stage 2026 as part of the COMPUTEX 2026 event, using GIGABYTE’s Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE motherboard, paired with a Corsair VENGEANCE DDR5 memory kit and an Intel Core Ultra 7 270K Plus processor. To pull off this record-breaking effort, GIGABYTE assembled several extreme overclocking connoisseurs for its “OC Team”, comprising names like HiCookie, Sergmann, Saltycroissant, Madness777, and Exaberries.
The GIGABYTE Z890 AORUS TACHYON DUO X ICE is the brand’s flagship Intel motherboard. While the Intel motherboard is responsible for one world record (which is one of the most prestigious, to be fair), the AMD side is responsible for another 10 “Global First Place” rankings. HiCookie and the OC Team used GIGABYTE’s new X870 AORUS INFINITY motherboard paired with an AMD Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 processor and G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB memory to claim these records:

Pokdepinion: DDR5-13556 MT/s is an incredible achievement, though at current RAM prices, most people are still debating whether upgrading to DDR5 at all is worth the second mortgage.
