In Tuesday’s “Future Ready” event, HP has brought in various lineups which focus on “revolutionizing work and play with an emphasis on innovation and sustainability.” Among the lineup is the new OMEN 16, Victus 16 – the former of which also spawned a slim chassis version with slightly different hardware. The company also presented its ZBook / ProBook laptops as well as printer products in the event.

In terms of HP’s gaming lineup, there are three new, updated models: the OMEN 16 which inherits the same chassis over previous model year with upgraded internals, the budget-focused Victus 16 which also packs latest processing hardware, as well as the new OMEN Transcend 16 that the company claims is “HP’s slimmest and lightest gaming laptop yet.” All three laptops are available with the option of AMD Ryzen 7000 series or Intel 13th Gen CPUs.

The new HP OMEN 16 is expected to feature up to AMD’s Zen 4-powered Ryzen 9 7940HS (8 cores), or alternatively Intel’s Core i9-13900HX (8P+16E), paired and NVIDIA’s RTX 4070 laptop GPU handles the graphics duty; RAM can be configured up to 32GB of DDR5-5600. Unlike most laptops on the market right now, the display will remain on the old 16.1-inch 16:9 display, with QHD resolution and 240Hz refresh rate coupled with 3ms GTG response time. Pricing for standard OMEN 16 starts from RM6,899.

Meanwhile, the OMEN spinoff, dubbed OMEN Transcend 16, differs itself from the standard model with the display and chassis – it now comes with a 16-inch, 16:10 QHD+ 240Hz mini-LED panel, which boasts brightness past 1000 nits. The chassis is also slimmer despite packing similar hardware as the standard OMEN model. The company says it will be available in August with the starting price of RM10,999.

As for the budget-friendly Victus 16 lineup, it also comes with the option of Intel’s 13th Gen or AMD Ryzen 7040 series processors (Core i7 or Ryzen 7) paired with up to NVIDIA RTX 4070 graphics, with the pricing starting from RM4,149.

Pokdepinion: The current OMEN chassis is already in its 4th year by now, so hopefully that means the lineup is due for another chassis redesign next year.
