Acer Malaysia has launched the updated Predator Helios 18 AI gaming laptop, this time powered by an Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus processor and up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card. The flagship model starts from 48GB DDR5 RAM and 1TB SSD as standard for its top variant, with upgrade options of up to 256GB RAM and 6TB of SSD storage.

The display is an 18-inch 16:10 4K+ (3840 x 2400) 120Hz Mini-LED panel with full DCI-P3 color gamut coverage, peak brightness of 1,000 nits in HDR mode. Cooling is handled by Acer’s 6th Gen AeroBlade 3D Fans, featuring 0.05mm metal blades (100 per fan) with adaptive airflow adjustment, contributing to a claimed 20% improvement in cooling efficiency over the previous generation. The cooling system also includes vector heat pipes and liquid metal interfacing the silicon hardware.
Audio is delivered through Acer’s Predator Vox six-speaker system, which uses an internal tube structure for waveform consistency and spatial audio projection, while the keyboard features partially hot-swappable Predator MagKey 4.0 mechanical switches with customizable magnetic actuation points. Plenty of RGB lighting, too, where you can find rainbow colors on the cover logo, MilkyWay lighting bar, InfiniteRing accents, and per-key RGB on the keyboard as well.
The gaming laptop comes with Intel Killer DoubleShot Pro that combines connections from its Killer Wi-Fi 7 card and the onboard Killer E5000B-powered 5GbE LAN port for maximum network performance; alongside that, it also features dual Thunderbolt 5 ports that supports up to 120Gbps connections for high-speed peripherals.
Acer PM191Q E Portable Monitor & AH101 Monitor Stand
Alongside the laptop, Acer Malaysia also introduced the PM191Q E portable monitor with a 18.5-inch Full HD (1920 x 1080) 100Hz IPS panel onboard. The monitor connects via a single USB Type-C cable for both power and video, weighs 1.13kg, and includes a built-in tiltable stand with VESA mount support. Speaking of which, Acer has a new AH101 portable monitor stand that offers tilt, swivel, and height adjustment, supporting 75x75mm and 100x100mm VESA mounts as well as a 1/4-inch thread interface.
Pricing and Availability
The Acer Predator Helios 18 AI is available now at authorized Acer resellers and the Acer eStore – the RTX 5090 variant with 48GB RAM is priced at RM19,999 (which looks downright reasonable when compared against its Taiwanese brethren), and the RTX 5080 variant with 36GB RAM is priced at RM17,999. The Acer PM191Q E portable monitor and Acer AH101 stand are available from 6 July 2026, priced at RM469 and RM99 respectively.
Pokdepinion: Honestly I’m very surprised an RTX 5090-powered flagship gaming laptop can still cost less than RM20,000 these days. Props to Acer!
