Apple has confirmed its next keynote event will take place on 10 September, beginning at 1am Malaysian Time. The event, themed “Surprise and Shine,” features a glowing Apple logo in its teaser. The keynote will be streamed live on Apple’s website and its official YouTube channel.
This will be the first Apple keynote under new CEO John Ternus, who officially assumed the role on 1 September 2026 following Tim Cook’s departure.
What to Expect at the September 2026 Apple Event
The September event is expected to see a notable change in the usual iPhone lineup structure. Apple is anticipated to announce the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, while the standard iPhone 18 model is reported to be pushed to a later release next year.
The most significant announcement is expected to be Apple’s first foldable smartphone, rumoured to be called the iPhone Ultra. If confirmed, this would mark the most substantial change to the iPhone lineup since the iPhone X in 2017.
Unlike the iPhone 18 Pro, the foldable model is reported to have a limited initial release restricted to select markets including the United States and China, with a phased global rollout similar to the iPhone X launch. A wider international release timeline has not been confirmed.
Accessories and Pricing Outlook
Apple may also use the event to introduce updated accessories, potentially including a new Apple Watch Series 12, Apple Watch Ultra 4, an updated Apple TV 4K, and a refreshed HomePod mini. No official confirmation has been provided on any of these products.
Pricing for the new iPhone lineup is expected to be higher than previous generations, in part due to the ongoing global RAM shortage. Apple’s recently announced Mac Mini and Mac Studio, for reference, start from RM3,799 and RM10,999 respectively in Malaysia.
As Malaysia is among Apple’s first-wave launch markets, pre-orders for the iPhone 18 Pro are expected to open as early as 11 September, with local availability anticipated the following week on 18 September. This is based on Apple’s typical release schedule from previous years and has not been officially confirmed. Availability and timing for the foldable iPhone in Malaysia remain unclear at this stage.
Pokdepinion: I’m quite excited to see Apple’s first foldable, especially if they really are going for that passport-style design. A little worried about UI optimizations but in this case, I’m sure Apple can get things fixed faster.
