realme launched the realme 16 and realme 16T simultaneously in Malaysia last Friday, filling up the full realme 16 Series lineup when 16 Pro+ and 16 Pro first debuted this April. Unlike the Pro variants, both devices are positioned around battery endurance, with the standard variant carrying a 7,000mAh battery, whereas 16T gets an 8,000mAh battery.
realme 16 Specs
The realme 16 measures 8.1mm in thickness and weighs 183g, described by realme as the lightest 7,000mAh smartphone in its segment (with 60W fast charging support). Its rear design features a horizontal camera bar à la iPhone Air, though inside it you’ll find more than one camera – comprising Sony IMX852 50MP wide, 2MP monochrome, and an unspecified sensor – and even a rear “Selfie Mirror” which the brand claimed as an industry-first.
Elsewhere, the smartphone features 6.57-inch FHD+ 120Hz AMOLED display, with a claimed HDR peak brightness of 4,200 nits (HBM is rated at 1,400 nits while standard max is 1,000 nits); under the hood sits the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 Turbo chipset paired with 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Intriguingly, when we looked at its spec sheet, it suggests the smartphone lacks Wi-Fi 6 support altogether, which is rather odd for a 2026 smartphone if you ask us.
realme 16T Specs
The realme 16T‘s primary selling point is its rather huge 8,000mAh battery, though unlike the regular 16, it comes with slightly slower 45W wired fast charging, but in return you do get 15W reverse wireless charging – not something you see outside of flagship or premium-adjacent models. On the durability front, the smartphone is rated IP66, IP68, IP69, and IP69K for water and dust resistance, and carries “military-grade shock protection.”
Slotting below the regular realme 16, the 16T sports a 6.8-inch display that is standard LCD panel, with 144Hz refresh rate, HD+ resolution (1570 x 720), and 1,200 nits of HBM brightness. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset paired with up to 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The square camera bump primarily features the same 50MP Sony IMX852 sensor plus a 2MP monochrome sensor, and like the standard model, it also gets a Selfie Mirror for taking selfies using the rear cameras.

Both models are now available at realme Brand Stores, authorized dealer stores, and official stores on Shopee, Lazada, and TikTok Shop. The realme 16 is priced at RM1,599 with Air White and Air Black color options, while the realme 16T is priced at RM1,399, and comes in Aurora Green or Starlight Black options.
