Xbox will not have a booth at this year’s E3 convention, joining Nintendo in the decision to opt-out of the in-person event. The company confirmed to IGN on Friday that while it will be hosting its annual Xbox showcase on June 11th, it will not be present on the E3 show floor. “We also look forward to co-streaming our event as part of E3 Digital and will not be on the E3 show floor,” a spokesperson said in a statement.

Sony, which hasn’t attended E3 since 2019, has not yet confirmed whether it will participate in the event. In January, IGN reported that the company would be skipping the event again in 2023. E3 is scheduled to take place from June 13th to June 16th, with the digital week starting on June 11th with the Xbox showcase. Meanwhile, Geoff Keighley’s Summer Game Fest is also set to return on June 8th – just a few days before E3 kicks off.

ReedPop owner Reed Exhibitions US (organizer of E3 2023) said in a statement that there will be more news on the lineup soon. “Alongside the upcoming announcements from other AAA companies regarding their own participation, we look forward to sharing more of the publishers that will be part of our digital showcase series and exhibiting on the show floor in the lead up to the return of E3,” said Kyle Marsden-Kish, the global VP of gaming at Reed Exhibitions US.
