3 years since its launch, Cyberpunk 2077 will once again be re-released in the form of Ultimate Edition this holiday season. In this edition, you’ll get the base game, plus all updates implemented thus far (including the Update 2.0), as well as the Phantom Liberty expansion all included in one package. It’ll be released in both digital and physical storefronts starting this December 5th.

This happens to be the first-ever physical game release of CP2077 for the next-gen consoles (Xbox Series X & PS5), and like the Phantom Liberty expansion that no longer supports older consoles, the Ultimate Edition won’t be available for PS4 and Xbox One as well. The Update 2.0 also introduces various redesigns, including dynamic skill trees, enhanced vehicular combat, and improved enemy and police AI, on top of new weapons, vehicles, and clothes.

Cyberpunk 2077 started all the way back in 2013 as a brand new IP project by Polish game publisher/developer CD Projekt Red, and after nearly 8 years of development – one of the longest in video game history – the game was launched, albeit shortly after it was marred by many game-breaking bugs and glitches, which greatly damaged the game’s reputation. Since then, the game has been slowly getting fixes and patches, alongside free content and new graphics technologies courtesy of NVIDIA to regain its footing.

Pokdepinion: For all its faults initially, the game has come a long way.
