The Nintendo Switch is one of the innovative game consoles created thus far. The Joy-Cons, while versatile, isn’t exactly comfortable to use especially for long hours. For those of you who often game in handheld mode, this new Hori Grip Controller might just be the one for you..

It looks like your typical game controller that’s cut in half, with the system itself to be place between the two halves. In essence, it’s basically the Joy-Cons but extra thicc. It is designed for the upcoming Daemon X Machina game, and is slated for release this September 2019. From what we know, it has been listed with a price tag of 4,780 yen / USD $49.99.

It’s worth noting that this Hori Grip Controller does have some notable differences in features compared to your standard Joy-Cons. It lacks an internal battery, gyro sensor, NFC, and vibration. In essence, you can only use this when it’s attached to the Nintendo Switch.

It does however have a programmable button on the back, large buttons, comfortable analog sticks, a proper d-pad, and grips for your hands to hold on to. For Daemon X Machina specifically, it has a turbo feature which allows a button to activate in intervals of five, ten, or twenty when pressed.

Initially, it was thought to be a Japan-only peripheral but Twitter user Wario64 noted that there is a pre-order page for it on Amazon. Once again, the Hori Grip Controller for Daemon X Machina will be released this September 2019.

Pokdepinion: I already got myself the Skull & Co. Grip Case so I don’t quite see myself getting this. However, if I could use this with the rechargeable Joy-Con dock, then I might actually get one for myself.
