Nintendo Switch Could Be Having a Supply Shortage Soon
If you’re looking to get yourself a Nintendo Switch, you may want to do so as soon as possible. Due to the recent COVIDS-19 outbreak in various parts of the world, it might be facing a supply shortage very soon.
According to Bloomberg, supply chain sources have reported a production bottleneck due to the outbreak. This means that it will be difficult to have enough Nintendo Switch consoles in supply to meet demands in April 2020.
There is a limited supply of components coming from China, which is said to be the main reason for the slow production at an assembly partner’s factory in Vietnam. If there isn’t enough components for the console this month, there will be noticeably lesser units coming this April 2020. The countries that will be affected the most here is the US and Europe, but other countries are expected to feel the pinch as well.
At the moment, some Nintendo Switch shipments from Asia have been rerouted to the US, particularly for February and March 2020. It would be hard to say whether the same can be done in the months that come after.
It’s definitely not a good time as the Nintendo Switch is expected to see a number of major releases. One of the biggest attractions coming soon as Animal Crossing: New Horizons, which will be released on 20th March 2020. We will be reporting more on this matter as soon as information becomes available so stay tuned.
