Malicious Google Play Apps

In terms of numbers, Android is one of the most used software in the world, and added that Google Play Store is the place for them to get their applications, it is bound that a number of people has downloaded almost 30 of these malicious apps.

If you launch one of these apps, they will either display an error that says “The installed application is incompatible with your phone and has now been removed”.

Interestingly enough, the malicious apps have disguised themselves as either a battery manager, horoscope, or a cleaner app.

Thankfully, the apps has been removed from the Google Play Store. Despite that, a number of 30,000 users have installed them beforehand. You can check out the full list of malware apps here.

Found one on the list that you currently have? Well don’t panic. These Trojans don’t employ advanced tricks to ensure their persistence on your device. So all you need to do is simply uninstall them under Settings > (General) > Application manager/ Apps.

In addition to that, you are also advised to check your bank account for suspicious transactions and consider changing your internet banking password or PIN code.

Pokdepinion: I knew those horoscopes and battery manager apps had something fishy about them. Well make sure you guys don’t have the apps on your device. If you do, just follow the steps mentioned. Better safe than sorry, right?
