Xiaomi CC9 Pro matches HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro’s DxOMark scores at nearly half the price
The Xiaomi CC9 Pro does have the bragging rights of being the first 108MP smartphone that doesn’t cost more than an iPhone. But aside from a ridiculously high megapixel count, the Xiaomi CC9 Pro has another achievement up it sleeves: matching the HUAWEI Mate 30 Pro on DxOMark’s ladder.
Of course, that’s the Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium Edition that DxOMark tested. The only difference is an 8-element lens instead of the regular variant’s 7-element optics. Aside from that, you get the same penta-camera setup on the Xiaomi CC9 Pro Premium Edition as you would on the regular one.
The penta-camera setup is probably the main highlight. Featuring a 108MP f/1.69 primary camera behind optically stabilized glass, the camera here blows past Xiaomi’s previous flagships. In addition to that, there’s a 12MP f/2.0 2x telephoto shooter and a 8MP f/2.0 10x hybrid zoom camera which goes all the way up to 50x zoom with digital zoom, a 20MP f/2.2 ultra-wide angle camera that works together with the dedicated macro lens to focus from just 1.5cm. Just for good measure, there’s a 32MP f/2.0 selfie camera that supports what looks like a Night mode for selfies.
Aside from the absolutely ridiculous camera, the specifications aren’t anything out of the ordinary. There’s a Snapdragon 730G mated to up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The battery weighs in at an impressive 5260 mAh, with support for 30W charging. Thanks to the massive camera and battery, the CC9 Pro is really chonky at 9.67mm thick and 208g heavy.
