NVIDIA Quietly Releases RTX 4060 Ti 16GB With No Fanfare

NVIDIA only released Founders Edition with 8GB VRAM.

The RTX 4060 Ti had it pretty rough – reviews has generally been negative on the GPU which was released back in May this year with the 8GB variant, citing weak performance and lack of VRAM, and more importantly, uncompetitive pricing.

When the announcement back in mid-May has already informed the public of the 16GB version incoming (with another $100 on top of the already high $399 MSRP), it’s widely expected that it won’t be received well by reviewers and consumers alike. In fact, AIBs are not interested in promoting it either.

With that, NVIDIA has launched the 16GB version with zero reviews on launch day, as media outlets (such as TechPowerUp) has reported that AIBs didn’t supply them the sample, and some retailers didn’t even have stock available to sell. NVIDIA also did not provide press drivers for reviews either – making launch day reviews practically unfeasible.

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti 16GB are identical to the 8GB version on the silicon level – meaning same 4352 CUDAs, 2535MHz boost clock, 128-bit bus width, and same 160W TDP. Only the VRAM capacity is doubled with higher density 16Gb (2GB) modules.

Pokdepinion: In hindsight this card probably should come with 192-bit 12GB to make it a more compelling option – when RTX 3060 already has the capacity.
