[COMPUTEX 2026] Synology Showcases AI-Ready Data Management And Protection Solutions

Synology used COMPUTEX 2026 to showcase updates across its enterprise and consumer product portfolio, including the next generation of DiskStation Manager (DSM), ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, the new DP5200 appliance, surveillance solutions, workplace collaboration tools, and Bee Series products.

The latest version of DSM expands beyond traditional storage management by introducing capabilities designed to support enterprise AI deployments and data analysis workflows – it now supports GPU-equipped NAS systems and dedicated AI appliances, allowing organizations to run AI workloads on-site while maintaining control over sensitive data.

New governance features include expanded role-based access controls, data access visibility tools, and management functions intended to support compliance and security requirements. DSM also introduces enhanced monitoring, centralized log management, cluster management, and large-scale deployment capabilities for distributed IT environments.

Synology also announced ActiveProtect Manager 2.0, its enterprise backup and recovery platform, with expanded support for cloud and virtualization environments including Microsoft Azure Virtual Machines, Amazon EC2, Nutanix AHV, Proxmox VE, and Google Workspace.

The update adds AI-assisted anomaly and malware detection to identify suspicious backup activity and introduces an Auto Fallback feature that enables recovery from the latest uncompromised backup version. Alongside the software update, Synology introduced the DP5200 appliance to expand deployment options for organizations implementing data protection strategies.

The company’s collaboration portfolio is being expanded through new additions to Synology Office Suite, including ChatPlus and Meet. The applications provide workplace communication, AI-powered transcription and translation capabilities, and enterprise management controls while allowing organisations to keep collaboration data within their own infrastructure.

For physical security deployments, Synology showcased new surveillance and access control products, including dome cameras, Deep Video Analytics appliances, and hybrid cloud monitoring through Surveillance365. The company also highlighted updates for its consumer-focused Bee Series private cloud ecosystem, which now includes BeeStation, BeeStation Plus, BeeCamera, and Synology Deep Search, providing users with tools to store, manage, monitor, and search personal data while maintaining local control over their information.
