It was recently discovered that Google Chrome has 5 major security issues which Google themselves classified as “high”, with one in particular being labeled as “critical”. As such, it’s recommended to get your browser updated as soon as possible.

To give you an idea as to how dangerous some of these security flaws are, the high-rated vulnerabilities are being exploited actively by hackers, as they can attack the browser’s JavaScript engine and run their own code on your PC. Essentially, that gives them free reign to run malicious programs on your PC and there wouldn’t be anything to stop them.

Typically, the browser would update itself but it’s hard to tell whether it has or not. If you’re not sure how to update Google Chrome, just follow the simple steps we’ve listed right below here:

How to Update Google Chrome

  1. Click on the three-dot menu icon at the top-right.
  2. Click on Help, and the select About Google Chrome.
  3. Google Chrome should start to update automatically.
  4. Once it has finished updating, click the Restart button to complete the update.

While not much specifics are known about these vulnerabilities, it’s no surprise that it’s not being made public knowledge yet as it could give room to more people trying to abuse it. We expect to learn more when more than enough people have moved to the latest update.
