Version 5.8 of Genshin Impact “Sunspray Summer Resort” will be released on July 30, 2025, as announced by HoYoverse. The update introduces a new permanent map, Easybreeze Holiday Resort, located off the west coast of Natlan, alongside the debut of Ineffa – the first character from the Nod-Krai region.

The Easybreeze Holiday Resort trial zone features new exploration mechanics through a mascot named Asha, which enables gliding over water and midair hovering. Several returning characters including Bennett, Chasca, Mualani, and Venti will appear, with the story quest Sunspray Summer Resort continuing the narrative. Underneath the festive setting lies the Mare Jivari area, where players can face a boss named Bakunawa.
Version 5.8 includes seasonal in-game events offering rewards through various mini-games such as ‘Travels Are Fuller With Friends’, ‘Strikers Through the Storm’, and others; players can collect Sunspray Spirit to redeem items including the 4-star Claymore Flame-Forged Insight and Bennett’s new outfit Adventures in Blazing Hue.
The update also marks the start of the Nod-Krai story arc “Song of the Welkin Moon”. Its prelude, “The Journey Home”, introduces Ineffa, a 5-star Electro polearm user with a unique Lunar-Charged elemental reaction. Ineffa can generate continuous Electro damage through Thunderclouds and deploys an assistant unit, Birgitta, in combat scenarios. She will be available in the first phase of event wishes, alongside a rerun of Citlali, with Mualani and Chasca returning in the second phase.
Yelan also returns with a new Fontaine-style outfit, Tranquil Banquet, which will be available at a discount for a limited time. System improvements in Version 5.8 include cloud-streamed tutorial videos for new characters, automated quest time navigation, and improved local specialty tracking for character development.
