MyDIGITAL Corporation has formed a strategic partnership with Petrosains to expand digital literacy, AI awareness and STEM education among Malaysia’s indigenous communities, as part of its national digital learning initiative Rakyat Digital. The collaboration was officiated on 1 July 2026 at the Karnival Pendidikan Murid Peribumi Penan Peringkat Negeri Sarawak, held at Kolej Tun Datu Tuanku Haji Bujang in Miri, Sarawak.
MyDIGITAL Corp & Petrosains Begins Outreach In Sarawak, Nationwide Expansion Planned
The inaugural outreach program engaged more than 200 students from indigenous communities across Sarawak, including the Penan, Iban, Kayan, Kenyah and Lun Bawang. MyDIGITAL introduced participants to the Rakyat Digital platform, which provides free access to digital learning modules covering AI literacy, digital skills and technology awareness; Petrosains contributed through its signature Science Show and a series of interactive, hands-on STEM activities designed to foster curiosity and experiential learning.
Adrian Marcellus, CEO of MyDIGITAL Corporation, described the collaboration as a critical milestone in making digital and AI literacy universally accessible, with a particular focus on ensuring that indigenous communities are not left behind in Malaysia’s digital transition. Ezarisma Azni Mohamad, CEO of Petrosains, emphasized that access to STEM and digital learning can serve as a powerful catalyst for unlocking potential among Orang Asli and indigenous youth in Sarawak.
Building on the Sarawak event, both organizations plan to extend the program nationwide. Working with the respective State Education Departments, the next phases will bring tailored digital literacy and STEM experiences to schools serving indigenous communities in Kelantan, Pahang and Johor. Both parties have also expressed commitment to forging further partnerships with government agencies, educational institutions and community stakeholders.
The initiative is directly aligned with the Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) Action Plan: Towards an AI Nation, which was officially launched on 29 June 2026 by Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim. A core priority of MD2030 is building an “inclusive AI Nation where no one is left behind.”
