The Edge Explore 3 presents multiple route options based on ride time, elevation, and bike type, allowing cyclists to pick the best path before setting off. An Up Ahead feature lets riders select preferred points of interest along a route, covering stops like coffee shops, restrooms, and petrol stations.
Road hazard alerts notify riders of potholes, closures, and even aggressive animals reported by other Garmin cyclists, with real-time contribution supported when paired with a compatible smartphone and the Garmin Connect app. Free Flow Routing helps cyclists find paths with fewer stops and intersections to maintain momentum, while Pin Drop Navigation lets them send a location from Google Maps or Apple Maps directly to the device for a bike-specific route.
The Edge Explore 3 includes Garmin Cycling Coach, a free personalized training plan system designed for beginners. Plans adapt based on performance, recovery, and course conditions when the device is paired with a compatible Garmin smartwatch or heart rate monitor. Garmin Link allows compatible Garmin smartwatches to connect automatically each time the Edge Explore 3 is powered on, displaying wrist-based heart rate data at a glance.
eBike riders are also catered for, with compatibility for systems such as Bosch Smart Systems and Shimano E-Bike systems, displaying battery status and assist level directly on screen. For commuters, a carbon savings tracker shows the environmental impact of daily rides in real-time and after each trip.
Safety features include LiveTrack location sharing when paired with a smartphone, incident detection, and real-time weather alerts. The device is also compatible with Varia radars and smart lights. Battery life reaches up to 16 hours under intensive use, and up to 48 hours in battery saver mode.
The Garmin Edge Explore 3 carries a suggested retail price of RM1,799 and will be available from 11 December 2026 onwards. It can be purchased through Garmin.com.my, Shopee, Lazada, AECO e-store, Garmin Brand Stores, and selected authorised retailers.
