OPPO Supposedly To Make Their Own Chipset For Smartphones
According to reports, it appears that OPPO is looking to develop their very own SoC for smartphones, specifically for their higher-end series it seems.
OPPO to introduce self-developed chip?
If the report is to be true, the company would be the latest smartphone brand to venture into making their own chip. Of course, this isn’t exactly something new. Recently Google did one of their own by introducing Tensor and of course, Apple, Samsung, and HUAWEI has already their own smartphone chips.
According to the source, it appears that the chip is scheduled for a release in 2023 or 2023 “depending on the speed of development” and would use TSMC’s 3nm process technology.
As it stands, the company has been using chips made from Qualcomm and MediaTek. Seeing how the company shares supply chain and ownership with OnePlus, vivo, and realme, it wouldn’t be surprising if they shared chips if they do indeed go with the plan of making one.

Pokdepinion: I mean if they do conjure up with something that performs, there’s still space in the market for more competition. Should they make one, it’d be interesting to see if it’s China-exclusive or something like that.
