The POCO M3 Pro 5G which was launched globally a week back is confirmed to arrive in Malaysia this 1st June. It will probably make its mark as one of the most affordable 5G smartphones in Malaysia, powered by the Dimensity 700 5G chipset.

The storage and memory configurations appear to be capped at 6GB RAM and 128GB storage, which should be sufficient for a decent user experience. However I wouldn’t be too surprised to see higher capacity options offered here in Malaysia. You can check out the specifications of the previously launched global variant below:

POCO M3 Pro 5G Specs

  • Dimensity 700, octa-core up to 2.2GHz, 7nm
  • Up to 12GB LPDDR4X RAM
  • Up to 128GB UFS 2.2 storage (expandable via microSD)
  • 6.5″ FHD+ 90Hz LCD display, Dynamic Switch
  • 48MP f/1.79 + 2MP f/2.4 macro + 2MP f/2.4 depth sensor
  • 8MP f/2.0 selfie camera
  • 5000mAh battery, 22.5W fast charging
  • 4GB + 64GB: €179 (~RM902)
    6GB + 128GB: €199 (~RM1002)

realme 8 5g

The POCO M3 Pro 5G will be going up against a number of Dimensity 700-based devices that’s available in the Malaysian market currently, including its own brother-from-another-mother, the Redmi Note 10 5G, the Samsung Galaxy A32 5G, as well as the upcoming realme 8 5G, which will arrive on our shores this 27th May.

For reference, the Redmi Note 10 5G was launched in Malaysia at RM799, the Galaxy A32 5G is available in Malaysia for RM1099, while the realme 8 5G entered the Indian market at INR13 999 (~RM798).

It will be interesting to see how POCO Malaysia will be pricing the POCO M3 Pro 5G to compete against the aforementioned devices. The European pricing starts from €179 (~RM902), but obviously Europeans pay more taxes on their devices than we do, so we should see it well below the RM900 mark.

Pokdepinion: I think I need a yellow POCO M3 Pro 5G, just because it is yellow.
