Lenovo ThinkReality VRX Headset Now Available In Select Markets
Lenovo has just announced the new ThinkReality VRX all-in-one VR headset for enterprise markets. This Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 1-powered headset provides a pair of high resolution displays per eye with the resolution of 2280 x 2280 pixels, 95° of vision and a refresh rate of 70Hz or 90Hz. It also supports mixed reality usage thanks to stereo HD passthrough cameras, with a quad-camera system responsible for 6DoF optical tracking.
This standalone unit is powered by a slightly dated Android 12 OS, with 12GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage available. I/O wise, it comes with 3.5mm jack, plus USB-C port that provides either wired display streaming or device charging (battery capacity rated at 6900mAh). On that note, the VRX also supports wireless streaming.
The pricing starts at $1,299 (~RM5,710) and is expected to release within this month in select markets – though Lenovo doesn’t specify the regions currently available for sale. Malaysia so far doesn’t seem to be included in the list as the ThinkReality VRX microsite is not available under the Malaysia’s region. That said, Lenovo says channels are open for enterprise customers to contact respective sales representatives for more information.
Pokdepinion: Android 12 does look like the odd choice here – given we’re nearing Android 14 release by now.
