Celcom Invests RM256 Million In Upgrading 4G Coverage In Malaysia

Celcom has today revealed that they’ve spent roughly RM256million of network investments to upgrade their network capacity and deploy more 4G base station towers in the country.

The upgrades will see improvements in 4G coverage and quality in both rural and urban areas. Celcom has said that by February 2021, they are aiming to a total of 4,700 network sites, 49% in urban areas and 51% in rural areas to be upgraded and optimized with capacity upgrades.

In addition to that, they look to install new 4G equipment as well as optimizing nearly 1000 4G network sites in Sabah and Sarawak.

The telco company will also continue with a nationwide cluster optimization program for an additional 3,600 network sites in providing better capacities to address buffering issues and deliver a better overall experience for consumers.
