Here are the GeForce RTX 3060 cards and their prices in Malaysia

The NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 cards have been announced, and they are pretty expensive here in Malaysia, if you consider the MSRP set by NVIDIA. However given the situation surrounding the limited availability, it is almost understandable. Well, here are the ones that we have seen appearing on social media as well as in press releases sent directly to us.
ASUS – from RM1990
ASUS is offering four variants of the GeForce RTX 3060, ranging from the ASUS DUAL GeForce RTX 3060 to the ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3060 OC Edition. ASUS seems to have reworked the coolers for the ROG Strix and DUAL cards, shrinking them from the ones used on their higher-end options. Still, given the lower power limit of the GeForce RTX 3060, the smaller coolers should do perfectly fine keeping temperatures under control.
Interestingly enough, ASUS decided that the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3060 OC Edition needs a beefier cooler than the ROG Strix version, which runs faster. Then again, the TUF Gaming cooler for the GeForce RTX 30 series has undergone one shrinking cycle, starting with the TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 3070, while this is the first smaller cooler for the ROG Strix lineup. I guess it didn’t make much sense to spend money to design and produce a smaller cooler just to save some costs on aluminum.

EVGA – from RM1999
EVGA will seemingly be offering only a single model of the GeForce RTX 3060. The EVGA GeForce RTX 3060 XC Gaming is one of the smallest GeForce RTX 3060 cards out there, but don’t be fooled by its diminutive design as it also runs pretty fast with its 1882MHz boost clocks, which is a good 105MHz above NVIDIA’s reference clocks. It is also one of the most affordable GeForce RTX 3060 cards in the market, which is great news for the SFF enthusiasts who want to get the most bang for their buck.

GIGABYTE – from RM2089
GIGABYTE will be arriving with more GPUs than ASUS, with a higher starting price than the ASUS cards, but their priciest card is also slightly more affordable than ASUS’ top-end cards. That means that they have a narrow spread, possibly because of the fact that they offer a GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 VISION OC which offers similar features to the GAMING OC card, albeit in a different color.
For those with more compact rigs, GIGABYTE proffers the EAGLE cards. Coming in both OC and non-OC editions, the GIGABYTE GeForce RTX 3060 EAGLE OC are the most affordable cards in GIGABYTE’s GeForce RTX 3060 lineup.
On the other end of the spectrum, there the AORUS GeForce RTX 3060 ELITE. It is rather reminiscent of the AORUS GeForce RTX 20 series cards, which were very flashy with a lot of RGB. Still, even with the beautiful RGB and enhanced cooling that the triple fan, blow-through backplate can offer, the 8-pin + 6-pin power connector setup is definitely way overkill.

PALIT – from RM1989
PALIT was relatively silent in Malaysia until their recent revival here in Malaysia, and it seems like they too will only be bringing in a single GeForce RTX 3060 card, namely the PALIT GeForce RTX 3060 Dual. A seemingly simple design, the PALIT GeForce RTX 3060 Dual does have the advantage of an extended cooler that sees the rear fan blow directly through the backplate, which should promise better performance than the shorter, dual-fan designs we see from other brands.

ZOTAC – from RM1989
ZOTAC keeps the cooling for their GeForce RTX 3060 series to just two fans, which was a decision that started with their GeForce RTX 3070 cards. They are offering gamers three options, the ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3060 Twin Edge, an OC variant of the card and also a white ZOTAC GeForce RTX 3060 AMP White Edition. The latter’s cooler is similar to the GeForce RTX 3070’s Twin Edge cooler, which uses asymmetrical fans to cool the card better. Still, there’s absolutely no need for the twin 8-pin power connectors on this card, even with its raised boost clocks.

[UPDATE 5/3/2021 – Added MSI GeForce RTX 3060 series]
MSI – from RM2379
MSI arrives with a trio of cards, ranging from the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 2X OC to the top-of-the-line GAMING X model. MSI decided that their highest-end GeForce RTX 3060 does not need three fans with its thick heatsink, but if you want a triple fan card just to fill up the empty space in your rig, you can get still it with the MSI GeForce RTX 3060 VENTUS 3X OC.
