Small yet potent — the new Razer Blade 15 is the smallest 15.6″ gaming laptop yet!
Razer’s latest gaming laptop, the new Razer Blade 15, is the smallest 15.6″ gaming laptop, while also being one of the more powerful laptops out there. This was achieved by minimizing the bezels and using a different cooling approach to tame the thermal output of the hardware inside its 16.8mm thin body.
The screen features minimal best-in-class 4.9mm bezels. This claim is shared with the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, which is an excellent design on its own. However by some amazing feat of engineering, Razer manages to cram the 15.6″ screen into a smaller footprint than MSI managed. The display’s only claim to fame isn’t its small bezels too, you can opt for a 144 Hz refresh rate and 100% sRGB coverage if you pick the 1080p variant. If you opt for the higher resolution 4K display, you get 100% Adobe RGB coverage, touchscreen functionality, but only get a standard 60 Hz refresh rate. All the displays in the new Razer Blade 15 will be custom calibrated from the factory for accurate colors.
More impressive engineering is seen in the new Razer Blade 15’s cooling system. The vapor chamber technology implemented here is by no means new, but Razer is probably one of the first to try and cool an i7 8750H and GeForce GTX 1070 in such a sleek form factor. Opting for a vapor chamber allowed Razer to cool more than just the CPU and GPU to ensure optimal performance across the board. Heat is expelled from the system by two high-performance low-noise fans across dual heat exchanges with 0.1mm thin fins.
All of that is slapped into a precision milled aluminium chassis with a scratch resistant anodized black finish. Not sure how it will stand up to long term usage though. Along the sides you will find a Thunderbolt 3 port among other things, allowing you to upgrade the graphics performance with the new Razer Core X which was also introduced recently.

Pokdepinion: It is indeed smaller than the MSI GS65 Stealth Thin, but it’s heavier… Definitely need to do a shootout between these two if we can get our hands on them!
