The folks at Shopee Malaysia has revealed that their ShopeeAPay will be the first eWallet of an ecommerce platform to join the DuitNow ecosystem.

With the collaboration, Shopee users will soon be able to transfer funds instantly via DuitNow between their ShopeePay eWallets and bank accounts.

If you’re not aware of what exactly DuitNow is, well it was launched back in December 2018 where it allowed bank and eWallet users to transfer money instantly on a 24/7 basis through online banking and eWallet app. It can be directed using the recipients’ mobile numbers, MyKad, or business registration numbers.

The news means that Shopee will be an early adopter of DuitNow 2.0, where it comes with features such as Request-to-Pay, real-time debits, and consent on-file.

Besides that, ShopeePay will also be adopting DuitNow QR, allowing ShopeePay users to access to offline merchants that accepts DuitNow QR payments.

DuitNow 2.0 will be released on a pilot basis in the second half of 2020.

Pokdepinion: Certainly a welcomed convenience. Now would anyone like to transfer funds to my account?
